Elizabeth Taylor was born with the name Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor. She was born on 27th February 1932 in London, England. When Elizabeth was born, her parents resided in England; however, with the outbreak of World War II, the family moved to the United States and settled in Los Angles.

Elizabeth’s father was an art dealer, having contacts with the Hollywood elite. Her mother was a stage actress, which instilled her acting skills in Elizabeth. When Elizabeth’s father thought of sending their daughter into auditions, her mother was reluctant. However, her mother agreed when Elizabeth passed certain screen tests with no hurdles. Soon, she entered the film industry and, in no time, became its heartthrob.

Elizabeth has done some remarkable work in the industry. She has done just 50 films that alone helped her win many prestigious awards. Apart from her work in the industry, Elizabeth is also known for living a lavish ‘live life king size’ attitude, philanthropic work, eight marriages, and multiple illnesses.

She took her last breath on 23rd March 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Elizabeth is still remembered for her flawless beauty and for playing the role of versatile and strong-willed characters.

Elizabeth made her first appearance on screen with her debut film, ‘There’s One Born Every Minute’ in 1942. She was only ten years old at that time. MGM Studios signed her to a contract in the following year and gave her a role in Lassie Come Home. Soon she started getting a lot of proposals. In 1944, she acted in National Velvet, which helped her reach stardom.
