Phillips is the daughter of John Phillips and his then-wife, Geneviève Wate, a South African model, artist, and actress. Her name was inspired by Lambert, Hendricks & Ross’ song “My Petite Bijou” (Bijou means “diamond” in French).
She is Phillips’ youngest child. She has a brother, Tamerlane, and three half-siblings; Mackenzie, Jeffrey, and Chynna.
