Grace Patricia Kelly was an American actress who married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in April 1956 after performing in numerous important films in the early to mid-1950s. AMADE Mondiale, her children’s rights group, was granted consultative status by UNICEF and UNESCO. Her final film appearance was as the narrator in Robert Dornhelm’s documentary The Children of Theatre Street, which was released in 1977. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature. Kelly died on September 14, 1982, at the age of 52, in Monaco Hospital from injuries incurred the day before in a car accident.

On the set of their 1954 film The Country Girl, Grace Kelly met Bing Crosby. By the end of filming, the two were rumored to be dating.

Crosby was dating Kathryn Grant at the time, who would later become his wife. Even after Crosby proposed to Kathryn, the affair continued, and he reportedly postponed their wedding because of Kelly.

It was said to have ended in 1955, but they must have kept in touch because Kathryn and Bing Crosby were invited to Monaco by Princess Grace and her husband in 1962.

Between 1954 and 1955, Grace Kelly allegedly had an affair with William Holden, who was then married to Brenda Marshall.
