How to Make Coconut Milk at Home

Method – 1:

  • Grate some coconut with a grater and keep it in a bowl.
  • Put all the grated coconut in a piece of muslin cloth and squeeze it hard. You will have the coconut milk pouring out of the coconut in the bowl.
  • Filter the milk to avoid any particles.
  • Heat the milk for 5 minutes at medium flame. Do not heat for long.
  • Let the milk cool down and then refrigerate it overnight.

Method – 2:

You’ll need:

  • two cups of grated coconut
  • 4 cups of boiling water

Preparation time: 5 to 10 minutes.

How to do:

  • Make your own coconut milk by taking two cups of grated coconut and mixing it with 4 cups of boiling water.
  • Heat them together in a pan and let them mix properly.
  • Once they form a mixture, put them off heat and let it cool.
  • Take a bowl and a sieve lined with two layers of muslin cloth.
  • Strain the coconut and water mixture through the sieve into another bowl.
  • Now squeeze the mixture to get coconut milk.
  • Bottle this milk and store in the fridge for 2 days and you could use this up to 2 months.
