1. Aloe Vera and Almond oil Moisturizer

Suitable for: Oily Skin

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera gel- 1/2 cup
  • Almond oil-1/4th cup

Process of Making and Using: Combine both ingredients and blend using a hand mixer. Transfer it into an air-tight container for use later.

Benefits: Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory powers and treats surface acne. Being light-weight, it easily sinks into the skin. There are good fatty acids in almond oil which help in retaining the natural moisture of the skin.

2. Licorice and Aloe Vera Moisturizer

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera gel: 1 cup
  • Brewed liquorice tea: 1 cup
  • Sunflower oil: 2 cups

Process of Making and Using: Mix the ingredients in a bowl using a hand blender and then store it in an airtight container. You can apply it every day on your neck and face.

Ingredients:

  • Rosewater, Sweet almond oil: 1/4th cup each
  • Shaved beeswax: 1/8 cup
  • Aloe vera gel- 1/4 cup
  • Rose essential oil- 5-10 drops

Process of Making and Using: Use a double boiler to mix and melt the sweet almond oil, and beeswax. To this, blend the aloe vera gel, essential oil and rose water, to create a moisturizer.

Benefits: Rose is suitable for any skin type as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial characteristics. Almond doesn’t clog pores, is lightweight and hence forms a good moisturizer.

4. Avocado oil and Shea Butter Moisturizer

Ingredients:

  • Shea butter: 6 tbsp
  • Avocado oil: 2 tsp
  • Rosehip oil: 5 drops

Process of Making and Using: Melt the shea butter using a double boiler. To it, add the oils and mix thoroughly. Transfer it to an airtight container for use later. In colder regions, the moisturizer may solidify, so you can warm it in a warm water bowl before using it.

Benefits: Avocado oil can be easily absorbed by the skin and acts as a natural sunscreen. There are linoleic acids in Shea butter, which hold on to moisture and reduce dryness.

5. Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E Moisturizer

Suitable for: Combination skin

Ingredients:

  • Cocoa butter: 3 tbsp
  • Coconut oil: 1 tsp

Process of Making and Using: Melt both the ingredients in a double boiler and let it cool. To this, add vitamin E oil and keep it in the fridge for about an hour. Whisk the mixture to make it fluffy and refrigerate again. Transfer it to an airtight container for use later.

Benefits: There are fatty acids in Cocoa butter that hydrates and nourishes the skin but don’t make it greasy. Vitamin E has anti-inflammatory properties which keep the skin healthy.
